How To Take Better Pictures With HTC One

HTC One

HTC One

The HTC One has a very powerful camera, but many people are having a hard time making the most of it for one reason or another. Understanding the various modes and ensuring that the camera is always ready will help you produce the best pictures. While the HTC One camera isn’t quite as good as advanced camera hardware, there are still many things that you can do with this little device.

Fast Access

The best way to capture photos is to have your camera ready at all times. Many people have missed great photo opportunities because their phone didn’t feel like loading. If you want to quickly access your camera app, then just select its icon from the lock screen. This allows you to use the camera without inputting your PIN or unlocking the phone. This means that you can start taking pictures in less than a second.

Zoe Mode

The Zoe Mode option is perfect if you want to take several shots at once without stopping. Not only that, but this mode automatically creates a small video of your shots that works best as a video highlight. Another great thing about this mode is that the video and photos will buffer as soon as you press the shutter button. This means that the camera will instantly take pictures so that you can easily capture the scene in front of you. If you need to take many shots at once without stopping, then the Zoe Mode will make this much easier.

Macro Mode

If you want to take a close-up shot, then you should definitely use the phone’s Macro Mode option. This mode is made for close-up shots because the lines will look better and the subject will stay focused for the duration of your shots. This can also be good for photographing intricate scenes since this mode ensures that all the details look crisp and vivid.

Dark and Bright Scenes

There are many times when you will have a scene that is both dark and bright at the same time. For example, a sunrise might have a bright sky and dark foreground. The HTC One has two modes that can help balance the colours.

If the scene has some moderate differences, then it’s best to use the Backlit Scene option. This will give more attention to the foreground so that it looks just as bright as the background. If there is an extreme difference in the brightness, then it’s best to use the HDR option.

Never Zoom

The HTC One’s camera has a digital zoom feature, but it’s best to ignore it if you want your photos to look good. Zooming in will blur the details and the colours might become muddled. Keep the camera zoomed out the entire time and walk towards the subject to make it look bigger.

Widescreen Shots

This device has a special camera that is innately wider than most other smart phone cameras. This allows you to shoot pictures that are the same size as the phone’s display. Not only does this capture the most detail, but most widescreen shots look amazing on this phone. Be sure to change the camera to widescreen mode for the best photos.

  1. An interesting article man. I really love HTC phones a lot. I have HTC Chacha and I’m enjoying it so much but, its just that the battery don’t last.

Thanks for sharing and thanks for visiting my blog too.

  2. I got my htc one to days ego and I can tell you the pictures taken by One are TERRIBLE.
Don’t listen the crap about low light and the rest of explanations.
You will have one of the best mobiles with one of the worst photo taking on the market.
    Shame on HTC.

    1. Agreed, I have just upgraded from a Galaxy S (the first one!) and that took far better pictures than the HTC One. They look nice on the phones screen, but when transferred to a PC and viewed full size the graininess is really bad, and the colours are quite dull. Very disappointing camera.
