Home > Tech > OnePlus One Review

A lot of high end smartphones at unbelievable prices are being launched lately. In this race of high end smartphones at low price a Chinese manufacturer named OnePlus launched its first ever smartphone by the name of OnePlus One. The smartphone already has rocked the mobile sphere as it comes with amazing hardware and that too at an unbelievable cheap price.

Design and Display

The design of OnePlus One is simply fabulous. The flat design on the OnePlus One is a great touch to the smartphone and when you are having the smartphone in your hand you will surely love holding it. The new 64 GB version of OnePlus One comes with sandstone back panel which gives a premium feel to the smartphone.

OnePlus One sports a 5.5-inch display screen which gives a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels. You will get 401 ppi from the display of OnePlus One. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection will give protection to the display of the smartphone and will prevent any scratches.

Hardware

OnePlus One is a powerful beast which comes with a 2.5 Ghz quad core processor and 3 GB RAM. The Adreno 330 GPU gives great performance and delivers great gaming experience on the device. It is highly unlikely that any game or application won’t work on OnePlus One because of the powerful processor and RAM. When we tested OnePlus One the multitasking was swift and we didn’t faced any lags with the device. Along with powerful hardware the software adds a great experience. As it comes with CyanogenMod 11S OS so you get unbelievable results from the device.

There are two memory options which you will get with the device which are 16 GB and 64 GB. When OnePlus One was launched it was only launched with 16 GB variant, but recently as Apple launched iPhone 6, OnePlus launched the 64 GB variant of OnePlus One with sandstone back panel. There is no option to add external micro SD card on the device.

Camera

Coming to the camera of the device you will get 13 mega pixel camera with OnePlus One. The camera comes with dual-LED flash and allows you to record videos in 720p, 1080p and 2160p. Panorama, HDR, geotagging, face detection and touch focus are the features you get with the primary camera of OnePlus One.

The front camera of the device is a 5 mega pixel camera which will get you the best selfies. If you love to take selfies this is the smartphone for you. The wide lens captures more area and allows you to add more people in your selfies. Even you can record videos @1080p with the front camera of OnePlus One.

Operating System

This is the best thing which I love about OnePlus One. Previously I was using Smasung Galaxy S3 which I rooted so that I able to install special applications which need root access and custom ROM’s like Cyanogenmod. Cyanogenmod is a custom ROM which is available for Android smartphones and tablets and is the best stable ROM. OnePlus One comes with Android v4.4.2 KitKat which you can update to v4.4.4 and the OS is combined with Cyanogenmod. This adds a lot of new features to the device which are not available even in the original Android OS. Along with pure Android experience you get additional features using the operating system of OnePlus One.

Battery

OnePlus One comes with a 3100 mAh battery which will easily allow the device to last for an entire day.

Price

The 16 GB model is available for $299 whereas you can get the 64 GB model for $349. We are sure that you won’t get any other smartphone better than this at this price.
