Home > Small Business > Fun And Rewarding Careers You Should Consider Pursuing

When you’re fresh out of school or college, it can be difficult to know which road to take. This is sometimes made even harder when funds to carry on with further education are not on your side. Regardless of funds though, now is the time to make the decision on what you want to pursue for your career, and you also need to factor in other details like whether you’d like to start a family in the near future, whether you already have a family, and also any other commitments that you want to take apart from your job. Once you have decided all of this, you can begin to look at a career that you want to take. Still at a loss? No worries, here’s a list of the most fun and rewarding jobs that you can pursue, and as a bonus, most of the careers won’t need much funding too!

HealthcareFun And Rewarding Careers You Should Consider Pursuing

It’s no secret that healthcare is a challenging career to pursue, and in many cases it can cost you a lot of money for the tuition for the sector that you’re interested in. However, there are ways of entering the healthcare profession without having to spend a lot of money all in one bulk.

One way is to begin by becoming a carer for elderly people in a care home. There aren’t enough people in the world that take on this profession and while it’s hard work, it can also be very fun and rewarding. You get to meet some people who will be able to tell you stories about the world way before you were even born. Also, knowing that you’ve helped someone in some way is one of the most rewarding feelings that someone can experience.

Another way to enter the profession is by applying for jobs that require you to work alongside healthcare professionals, like a receptionist. It’s a little known fact to many that medical administrators are taught many things by Doctors and Nurses so that they can assist and make their jobs easier. It’s also a little known fact that medical administrators are able to see patient’s medical files and have to sign the same contract that medical professionals do for confidentiality. As a medical administrator it’s likely that you will be asked to stand in for chaperoning, or assisting Doctors with some minor procedures that they perform in the surgery. There are often opportunities arise that you can take to further your career and begin training to become a nurse, among many other medical positions. Much alike being a carer, it can be an extremely fun job, all while being rewarding and challenging at the same time. Plus, the salary you can expect will be rather tasty too.

Construction

Construction work is another career that many people choose not to take because of the sheer amount of manual labour that’s involved. However, if you’re not afraid of hard work, you will have the chance to work with people who are like minded, all while learning valuable skills at the same time. There are so many different types of construction jobs for you to consider, and more often than not the skills are taught on the job.

However, if you’re choosing to pursue a career in something like electrics, you will need to go to college to learn the necessary skills for the job. It’s now possible (depending on where you live) to get grants and loans to help pay for tuition. Also, if you’re under a certain age you may still qualify for free or discounted education. Definitely worth looking it up!

Another bonus of working in the construction industry is that it’s a job that requires you to constantly be on the go, which means that you are likely to become fitter and stronger than you’d ever imagine due to the manual labour. A job that keeps you fit? Where can we sign up?

CateringFun And Rewarding Careers You Should Consider Pursuing

Anyone that’s ever worked within the catering industry will tell you that at times, the work can be difficult and long. However, depending on how high you’re willing to aim you could be earning top money for doing something that you have a passion for.

It’s easy to get into the catering industry. All it takes is a simple job at a restaurant running food for tables. From there on you can begin working your way up and get yourself trained by the current chefs on how to cook their menu. Luckily, it’s easy to work your way up in the catering profession, and while it might not happen overnight, the skills you will learn will never leave you, allowing you to apply to higher positions within the same company, or even another one that’s offering more money.

The end goal for many chefs is to be able to run their own kitchen, so why shouldn’t that be something that you aim for if you enjoy cooking?

Another great part of working in a kitchen is the atmosphere that you will experience. While at first it might be difficult because you’re the newbie, in time you will find that the friendships that you make in the kitchen are brilliant. Also, when you’re complimented for food that you have cooked it makes all of the hard work worth it.

If you wanted to begin the career ahead of a simple food runner, then there are courses and apprenticeships that you could consider taking. An apprenticeship would involve you going straight into a cooking job for less than normal wage, but acquiring a degree or qualification of some sort out of it. So if you’re fresh out of school and are able to take the wage dock for the time being, this might be the option for you to take!

Teacher

It’s likely that you have a teacher that used to teach you in school, and somehow they made their lessons bearable and enjoyable. This might have inspired you to want to become a teacher to help children and young adults learn in a different way to just staring at a whiteboard and writing down what the teacher does.

It’s no secret that teaching is one of the hardest jobs that someone can take on. You’re in charge of multiple students, and if their grades aren’t hitting the mark then the blame could be pinned on you. It’s also your job to help mold the future generation. However, regardless of all of that, it can also be one of the most enjoyable and rewarding jobs that someone can do too. This is because you are given the opportunity to meet some of the best minds you will ever come across, and you get to see children and young adults thrive because of the knowledge that you’ve given them.

It’s true that getting the right qualifications for becoming a teacher isn’t cheap. However, getting a foot in the door of the career you want isn’t as hard as you think. Many teachers began as teaching assistants, and then went on to do courses to qualify being a teacher. Some are even lucky enough to have these courses funded by the school that they work for. Consider applying for some teaching assistant jobs to get yourself on the right path to becoming a teacher.

Alternatively, you could look at some payment options to head straight to college to begin learning what you need to become a teacher. You will find that many courses in this day and age have the option to spread costs, and a new an innovative company called Unity are doing their best to make it easier for young students to pursue the career they want to, by rewarding them with money for using their app. Their app is also super useful for keeping your schedules together, finding nearby students who study the same things as you, and many other useful things for a student!

Conclusion

As you can see, it’s not as difficult as it may seem to get your foot into the career that you’re after, and hopefully this article has helped you make a decision on what you’re going to pursue. Regardless of whether the career you want has been listed, see if you can get your foot in the door of the career that you want and begin working your way up. Remember that the best minds in this world started from the bottom and worked their way up, and that nothing in life is given to you for free. However, if you continue to work hard and never lose sight of your goals you will soon find yourself on the right path, heading towards where you want to be. Consider these fun and rewarding careers if you’re at a loss with what to pursue! Good luck!
