Four rules for making the most of your Facebook page

Facebook

There are more than a billion Facebook users in the world. It is the most popular social media network and even the most visited website on the internet. Therefore, Facebook is a great marketing tool to engage with potential clients or friends. When you want to involve your followers and friends there are a few rules you should use. These guidelines will help you to get the most out of your posts on your business, brand or yourself. The rules are easy to apply and can be used by everybody so let’s have a look at them!

Keep it Short and Sweet

When you write precise and short messages you’ll generate a high number of responses. Long messages don’t generally get a lot of interaction on social mediums, as users don’t feel like taking the time to read long posts. More often than not, longer posts lack proper focus so that the readers’ interest is lost. When posts are short and precise the attention of the reader will be triggered immediately. So rule number one is: the shorter the post, the more reactions from followers and friends you’ll get.

Timing is everything!

Always post on a working day. Preferably between 13:00 and 16:00 and if possible on a Wednesday, as posts on these days get the most interaction and likes. Posting on the weekends should be avoided at all costs as people don’t feel like engaging on Facebook then. These are the results of a Mashable survey.

Ask and answer

You should ask questions to your readers to stimulate interaction. Everybody loves to share their opinions, experiences and ideas and this also applies to social network sites. When you, for instance, have recently launched a new product, ask your followers about their experience with it. People like giving feedback and receiving this feedback on your product is also a great way to learn if improvements need to be made to the product. Not all queries need to be serious however as Facebook is an excellent platform for lighter topics and questions. By asking a funny question you’ll get interaction going and maximize your reader and follower engagement.

Use pictures

When you publish posts with images you will be more likely to get responses than when publishing posts without pictures. Everyone loves inspiring, funny and creative pictures. Ask readers to caption the image or let them fill in the blank, you will be amazed by the amount of funny responses.

Next time you post something on Facebook you should keep these things in mind. Keep your friends and followers updated!
